Pour une patinoire couverte au nouveau centre sportif de Verbier !
Depuis l’incendie du centre sportif en juin 2017, de nombreux habitants de la Commune de Val de Bagnes souhaitent vivement retrouver une patinoire digne de ce nom au centre sportif de Verbier.
Elue « Meilleure station du monde » en 2021 et 2022, Verbier devrait pouvoir jouir d’une patinoire couverte afin d’offrir à ses habitants, à ses jeunes et à ses nombreux touristes le loisir de pratiquer le patinage artistique, le hockey sur glace, le curling, le karting sur glace ainsi que d’autres activités liées à la patinoire : gala, spectacles, compétitions, matchs, disco sur glace…
Actuellement, beaucoup de jeunes vivant sur la Commune de Val de Bagnes et membres de clubs sportifs tels que le Club des patineurs de Verbier (patinage artistique), le club de Hockey sur Glace et le club de Curling de Verbier doivent aller s’entraîner et se déplacer sur Martigny, Monthey, Sion et même Villars (VD). A titre de comparaison, la majorité des stations similaires à Verbier en Suisse romande offre une patinoire couverte à ses habitants et touristes : Crans-montana (2 patinoires), Villars, Morgins, Champéry, Loèche-les-bains, Leysin et bien d’autres en Suisse…
La patinoire provisoire sans couvert installée de décembre à mars au centre du village sur « les terrains à Besson » est un lieu de rencontre récréatif très sympathique et central pour les touristes qui souhaitent se détendre. Hélas, la petite dimension de cette patinoire ainsi que son entretien difficile dû à la météo ne permettent en aucun cas pas d’effectuer des activités sportives correctement.
